Thanks for coming out to Awaken the past 2 weeks. Each week we had about 30-35 people, great speakers and great fellowship. On March 25th, Dr. Childs from Texas Wesleyan spoke with us. Afterwards we had tomato soup and grilled cheese and then went to the CLC to play volleyball, cards or pass the pigs.
This week we were very excited to have our own Rev. Larry Van Zile of Meadowbrook UMC speak about the abundant life we are promised by Jesus. He explained that our definition of abundant may not be the same as Jesus's definition and that the way for us to have an abundant life is to spread God's love through our own lives in all that we do. Then, we ate meatball subs and played volleyball, basketball, frisbee and of course pass the pigs.
Thanks again to all who came out. Next week we have a special Easter morning Awaken at 6:45AM at Oakland Lake Park. We will have breakfast, music and a special segment so be sure to bring a flower.
