Awaken this week!

Awaken this week will be in the Sanctuary at 5pm. Come out this week for Awaken. We will have free food for all following the service. Tell a friend or two and bring another. See you all Sunday!

Agape

On Sunday mornings at 9:45am the Agape class meets at Meadowbrook UMC upstairs in the classroom to the right of the room across from the elevator (it is easier than it sounds). We have snacks and coffee every morning. Right now we are currently in a study called, "We are United Methodist". We are talking about what it means to be a United Methodist. Bring a bible and join us for this study. The study will end in three weeks with an Easter brunch and then we will begin a new study. Come and be a part of this.

Easter Sunrise Service

Awaken Easter Sunrise service coming up soon on March 23rd. Just a reminder so that you get it on your calendar. We will be having a sunrise service at 6:45am at Oakland Lake Park on the West side at the pavilion. We will have breakfast and have a sunrise service at the park. We will not have Awaken on Easter evening. Come on out and watch the sunrise on Easter with us.

On Saturday March 22nd Meadowbrook UMC will be having an Easter Celebration for children. It will begin at noon. Bounce houses, live music, Easter egg hunts, Easter bunny, games, and food! Get excited!

You Are

This past Sunday we held Awaken in the sanctuary at Meadowbrook and we will be in the sanctuary again this week. Come out and worship with us. Here is a video from this past Sunday. The song is "You Are", by Mark Roach. You can also check out previous weeks at Awaken on YouTube.

Awaken: February 24th

We changed it up a little bit this past week and we had worship in the sanctuary at Meadowbrook. It was great! Kyle Howton brought us the message this week using a rubix cube. Kyle talked about the stress that we have in our lives and how we can deal with it by turning it over to God. "I wish there was some kind of life instruction book..." Oh yeah there is! In case you were wondering Kyle solved the rubix cube in about 3 minutes flat... twice. I have a couple of pictures from last night that I will put at the bottom of this page. After worship we all treked down to the fellowship hall and had more than enough pizza and some sort of delicious cake that I did not get the name of. Come and join us for worship next week! A Bad Year for Tomatoes

The Meadowbrook Players present "A Bad Year for Tomatoes". The show dates are this Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at 7pm and Sunday at 2pm. The play is $10 in advance or $12 at the door. For tickets in advance call the church office. The youth at Meadowbrook will be selling drinks and food to support the Youth Minstry at Meadowbrook. Come and check out the play.

Awaken: February 17th

Spaghetti at Awaken this past week. Worship was great. Rev. Kyland Dobbins brought us the message in a little bit different way making it more interactive. The message was about how we become so busy in life, and how spending more time in prayer will give you rest. After worship and dinner there was a small group that went to the CLC for a little Ping Pong tournament.

Everything Glorious

Come and join us this Sunday at Awaken! We start at 5:00pm and we will be in the fellowship hall at Meadowbrook United Methodist Church. All are welcome to come and worship with us. Rev. Kyland Dobbins will bring us the message this Sunday. After worship we provide a FREE meal for anybody that comes. Then following that FREE FOOD there is a group that goes over to the CLC and plays volleyball and basketball. Tell a friend or two and bring some more! We will see you Sunday!

Awaken: February 10th

This past week at a Awaken we had a great crowd. We began our service for the week with worship. We sang several songs and the Rev. Jim Chandler came to speak to us. Pastor Jim spoke to us on 1 Corinthians 10:23-24.

"We are allowed to do all things," but all things are not good for us to do. "We are allowed to do all things," but not all things help others grow strong. Do not look out only for yourselves. Look out for the good of others also.

Pastor Jim asked us to open up our hearts and minds for what God has for us in our ministry. After worship we had some sloppy joes and tots. Then a group of us went over to the CLC and we played some volleyball.



Next week Rev. Kyland Dobbins will be bringing the message. Invite a friend or two and bring some others. See you all soon!

Ash Wednesday

Ash Wednesday service is at 6:30pm in the Sanctuary at Meadowbrook UMC following a Fat Tuesday celebration meal of Pancakes at 5:30pm in the Fellowship Hall.

Fat Tuesday

Tomorrow (Wednesday) Meadowbrook UMC will be serving a traditional Fat Tuesday dinner of pancakes for Bistro at 5:30pm in the fellowship hall. After Bistro Meadowbrook will be having an Ash Wednesday service in the sanctuary at 6:30pm.

Weekend and Upcoming

On groundhog day we had gutter clean out day. 16 different homes had their gutters clean out that morning/afternoon. Thank you to all of you that were a part of gutter clean out.

Super Bowl Sunday... Wow. You saw what happened and if you didn't you can go here to find out. We had a great turn out and as always had all the food we could ever want. I even ate some of it today there was so much. It was good to see all of you come out and hang out with us during the super bowl. What a game!

Next week we will be back to normal. Worship starts at 5:00pm and after that we will have free food for all. All are welcome to join us, so tell a friend about it.

Lent begins this week. Meadowbrook United Methodist Church will be having an Ash Wednesday service this Wednesday in the sanctuary at 6:30pm following Bistro. Bistro is at 5:30pm and they will be serving the traditional Fat Tuesday dinner of Pancakes! Please contact the church office to put your name down for Bistro. Bistro is 5 dollars for a great meal.
